Is Magura hs33 good?
great stopping power and modulation, look cool. These brakes work great, much more power than V’s especially in the wet. A friend has some other aftermarket levers that I don’t think are made any more, and has no problems, if I can find some these brakes will be back on my hardtail in a flash.
What brake fluid does Magura use?

What is rim brake?

Are hydraulic rim brakes worth it?
Hydraulic brakes have distinct strength advantages over cable-actuated brakes, primarily because there is much less power loss due to complicated cable routing (the norm for aerodynamic bike frames), cable stretch, or housing flex. The result is very powerful rim brakes with very good feel and modulation.
Are hydraulic V brakes good?
They are very good. In the dry I would say they are as good as discs, probably a bit more immediate (or grabby depending how you look at it) than some discs and always better than V’s. I’ve had the same set across various bikes over 10 years and haven’t had to bleed them once.
Can I use Shimano mineral oil on Magura?
you need seperate stuff. Shimano stuff will probably destroy the magura seals. They both use mineral oil, and I’ve seen quite a lot of people mixing shimano levers with magura calipers (it’s called shigura!) and using shimano mineral oil (because it’s cheaper). No issues reported.
Is Magura compatible with Shimano?
Shimano brakes use mineral oil as do Magura brakes, so there’s no fundamental incompatibility and you can use the same bleed kit providing the fittings work.
Are all rim brakes compatible?
The rim’s speed past the brake is nearly the same regardless of wheel size, and so a rim brake works equally well on any size wheel. Because a rim brake operates at nearly the full diameter of the wheel, the clamping force for a given amount of braking is much lighter than for a hub brake.
